ZERO - Brittany (F), 2001,
ephemeral installation with living snails on white ground.
Living snails, arranged to build the typography ZERO - with this
ephemeral installation I started working on the topic Nothing in August
2001. For a few minutes, the written picture rested, then the snails one
by one slowly crawled away. You could still read the word and see the
trails of movement, but by-and-by the orderly picture changed into a
silent chaos. Almost all of the snails had moved in different
directions. The word Zero, bearing the meaning of Nothing in it, turned
into a visible Nothing. And the snails are still crawling..... |
